IMR 8133?

Anyone have any info on this stuff? I see it on the hodgdon reloading data but not the imr wedsite.

I read they're presenting it on shotshow 2018

From manufacturer:

8133 Will be under the IMR Enduron line. Temp stable, CFE, good case fill. This should be out after the first of the year.

If I had to SWAG it, probably around RL33, N570, or H50BMG... IMR tends to go up in number as the burn rate gets slower. And I know that 7977 is almost smack-dab on par with H1000.

****! I nailed it when I guessed N570. It's sitting right on top of it.

N570 does awesome in the STW, Nosler, and RUM cartridges, but it's hard to find and expensive... I'll have to try some 8133 when it drops.

I wonder if they'll phase out the old line of IMR powders once they have a full line of Enduron powders

The only original IMR powder I hope they keep, is the IMR 7828 and 7828 SSC. I don't use anything faster than that in the IMR lineup. Faster powders, I use Hodgdon Varget and CFE 223. For my revolvers and .300 BLK I use H110 and Alliant Power Pro 300-MP.

I sure hope this doesn't happen. I find imr 4831 one of the best all time powders. I use it a lot in many different cartridges.

I stumbled onto IMR8133 load data while looking for top burners for the 7mm RemMag. I am doing research on an old pre WWI cartridge, the .276 Enfield the Brits experimented with after they got their butts kicked ballisticly by the Boers using 7mm Mauser during the Boer War (~1899 to 1902). The .276 Enfield was a superb cartridge for its day limited only by Cordite and great recoil. WWI came along and the Brits abandoned the project and kept their .303s. Some of the original loading propelled a 165 grain 7mm bullet out at around 2880 MV. At any rate, with modern powders of today this ancient experimental war cartridge should produce magnum velocities. I am in the process of building ammunition and a rifle to do such experiments.
Although I haven't done case capacities comparisons yet the loads for the 7mm RMag should be a close starting point.

To the main topic I did call Mike at Hodgon and tried to pin him down as to availability time, and as the above post he said early next year around the Shotshow. But I got the hint that your on line powder distributor can order the stuff sooner. Further questioning of him indicated that IMR8133 will work with the 243Win, 6mm Rem, 25'06 7mmRMag and up.

Mid South has it listed as on backorder.
