Tikka T3 Upgrade

Who was your gunsmith? Great looking rifle
Hi, Derrick Ratliff of Horizon Firearms built the rifle. He is great to work with and was always available to answer any questions I had during this build.

What break are you using??
The break is made by Horizon Firearms it's there design.

Thanks everyone for the compliments, I finally going to go shoot this rifle for the first time today.

Rocky Mountain,
I really like the Game Scout, this is my third one. For me it's a perfect fit. I do know others that have had problems with 30mm tube and larger objective scopes. They had to add a cheek riser, I have never had a problem. The stock works well for me.

I'm throwing up between getting an A3 or a game scout it will be for hunting so forend width for ease of carrying is a factor. They list the two as very similar but the scout tappers more at the end what are yiur thoughts?

You spoiled little snot! That's the rifle I want.
Very smart putting a Proof Research barrel on it. And I like all the other upgrades as well.
Could you donate to my GoGundMe (Not FundMe) account so I can upgrade my .300 Win. mag Browning A-Bolt Stainless Stalker? I want a P.R. carbon fiber wrapped barrel and a carbon fiber stock AND a Vortex AMG scope. I'm not asking for the moon, just a heart, liver and lungs transplant for my rifle.

I see your using a proof barrel is it a sendero lite and did it fit okay without to much barrel chanel being removed?
Originaly the stock was ordered from MCM for a Benchmark #5. That's what I have on my two previous Game Scouts. When I took everything to
Derrick at Horizon Firearms, I made a mistake and looked at several rifles he built with a proof on them. After that I change barrels to a Proof. He did have to adjust the barrel channel to fit it, not that much more had to be removed. You may also may want to look at the Game Warden from McMillian, just like a Game a Scout but can take on a larger barrel.
I did go with a Sendero Lite.

If you're in the market for a McMillan A3, Bergara has some overstocks on their online store for $299. I bought one back in the summer for $359 and thought I'd found a screaming deal.

Nice rifle! I'm just starting the process of building a 28 Nosler on a Tikka action but I've been told by some that it can't be done. They say the magazine length prohibits it. Looks like you did it though. Any issues with the mag length?

@nimrod_gn tikka will work fine if you stay with more conventional hunting bullets like partitions, barnes, spritzers, etc. they will fit in tikka mags @ 3.340 just fine.

It's when you run heavy vld style bullets like the 180-195 Berger's that you run into magazine length issues.
