Rifle scope choice.

I'm a new Hunter and I need help finding a scope. I'm planning on getting a Ruger American. I'm between the Vortex Crossfire 2 and the Leupold VX-1. Which one of these scopes would be the better choice? Any other recommendations? Thanks!

I would say which ever one seems better to you. Either one should do the trick.

I would have to say that for my shooting/hunting I use scopes that are a little higher end than what you are looking at. We did get a test rifle with the vortex that you listed and it was able to dial out to 600y and back fine. It comes down to the budget and what you expect from a scope.

VX1 Leupold between the two you mentioned. It's a good solid scope.

I can't speak for the crossfire, but I have used a VX-1 and I was pretty disappointed when the sun started going down. You could always sell that Benchmade and put that in your scope fund lol. I'm kidding, I've got four of them I sometimes think of selling but haven't been able to part with them myself.

How about Meopta meopro or Zeiss terra ? Both are solid low budget scopes.

I like Leupold. It's a good scope brand.

I have had both glass is not the best in either. Save up and get something better.
