Federal primers

I know ordering online is a killer for the hazmat if thats all you get and not buy a case but with as hard as 215m are for some to find I thought I would pass this along.

Cabela's online has 215m in stock @ 41.00 per 1K and if you use code:
7HARVEST

you get $5 shipping orders over $99 (yes still plus the $20 hazmat) so it helps take a small bite out. IF Cabela's had better pricing on other reload components like cases for what you need it does not hurt as much.

I just picked up 4K so I would be covered for the next couple years or 2 barrels worth. Compared to what some places are charger for 215m ( have seen them at $59 sorry but almost $60 is crazy) That $20 hazmat almost makes it a deal.

Maybe go in out with another loader or two or sell some off to locals that need it so they can help with the extra fee.

Anyways just wanted to pass it along.

I would not wait as the reg 215 went from instock to limited stock in the hour I just ordered. 215m still showing normal in stock status.

I am sure they are. I figured within a day of mentioning it they would be out.

if everyone would not order many thousands at a time we all might get some.quote(I just ordered 3 boxes, should last a LIFETIME)

Do you think that it really makes sense to buy one box, pay shipping and hazmat which almost doubles the price on one box, develop loads around that particular primer, and then not be able to find them when you run out. I buy everything in bulk that I can, so that I am using the same lot, and don't have to worry about running out at inopportune times.

Based on my observations, I think a lots of others do the same thing. I strongly suggest you get on the bandwagon, if you are not already.

aldeerhunter,I understand the cost in shipping is to high for one box but unfortunately a lot of shooters when things get scarce they mass buy just like when everyone was buying up 22 ammo 5-10 thousand rounds at a time when ever they could find it. but I can't see buying a large quantity so it sits for years on the shelf even though it won't go bad.

Hydehunter, unfortunately, you are correct. I think the ammo companies deliberately create some of the shortages we see, and us gullible hunters fall into the trap. We are now a fast food society. We want everything our way right now.

aldeerhunter, one thing I see is that right now you can get cci match primers and the thing I wonder about is that both cci and federal are made by the came company now,why is one available but not the other and why is cci now more expensive thank federal.I called and tried to get an answer but just got the run around.good luck in your quest for federal.my go to place Precision Reloading just down the road has not seen any for many many months.

Yes they are both owned by the same parent company, that doesn't mean squat. The primers federal produces go into their ammo, we as the public get their overruns. Maybe federal will change that practice in the future. CCI makes primers to sell to the public, not just for loaded ammo.

The issue is not even guys buying a few cases the issue are the same guys that buy 100K of 22lr or 15K of 5.56 etc decide now they are going to reload all that ammo. This would not even be issue if they actually used it....but NOOOOO almost all that prepper crap just sits on shelves somewhere doing nothing. They will never shoot let alone reload any of it.

I can not tell you how many AR-15 and other rifles I built that the only person that fired them was me for testing and group verification. I will bet during the early scares it was 50% and after still 25% or more. They are nothing but safe queens to bring out at the football party to show off to look cool.

I shoot alot and try to help other guys out locally that can not afford the the $ to buy in the amounts to save some $$. I also have never turned down someone that was in a tight spot on a forum if I had plenty. Many times sent it for free and never more than my cost and shipping.

It really screws up the whole supply and demand equilibrium when people panic buy and hoard. That then causes people with regularity because they actually use them to then have to resort to buying far more than they normally would as they have no idea when they might be able to get more. 22lr was up to the cost of 9mm and 45 at one point because of this. SO you **** bet ya when I got a chance at a really good price of .22 a bought a number of cases. Difference is between my kids that will be gone in 3 months of heavy practice as its used both rifle and pistol.
