SOLD/EXPIRED Need advice on Zeiss Diavari

I can buy a brand new in the box older Zeiss Diavari C 3-9x36 MC for $400
I've always been a Leupold snob so don't have much knowledge here. Just have a buddy trying to raise some cash and I do need a scope for a 300 Win Mag build. Deal or no deal ? Opinions

Those scope get 450-550 used and they are great scopes. I like a little more magnification but that's just me. They are bright and they hold their zero. You could always get your money back if you were unhappy.

Thank you ! The 300 Win Mag i need a scope for will see elk activity and possibly Alaskan black bear. Of course where there's black bear its not impossible to run into a brown. I too like more magnification but I think I need a little more field of view on the low end. I'm open to more opinions on this scope since I've thrown out a little more info
