I am thinking about selling my Oehler model 43 personal ballistic laboratory, but for lack of a serial cable I have not been able to test it tonight. I never used the strain gages so they are still wrapped in a sealed container along with all the associated hardware I am sure everything except the epoxies are still good. The last time I used the chronograph was circa 2011. I am sure it still works but want to verify first.

I have the original floppies for the chronograph operation (called PBL for personal ballistic laboratory) I am running it on an old Del with Windows 3.1 after rebooting in DOS mode. I also have the DOS Ballistic explorer which is rather lame and a windows version on a CD which is a little less lame. I am not sure where the chronograph instructions are (but will look harder) the software is not hard to figure out, at least for using the sky screens. Below are a few pictures, the chronograph software boots up in a no sky screen mode because of the lack of serial cable. The sky screens have a few bullet impacts, but are the same as the model 35 screens so every part is still available for them.

I was using it indoors with some non-lethal ballistics, that's why the artificial sunlight and wooden frame to protect the diodes.

If there is an interest on the site assuming I verify the chronograph is working, not sure how to verify the strain gages, I'd like to get 500 for it. If you are near Bel Air MD you are welcome to inspect it first. If there's no interest here I'll put it up on E-bay.

Thanks

Jeff

Hello,

I know this is a bit of an aged thread, but would you happen to still have this setup?

Thanks,

Mike

I have one I'm interested in selling. I've used it to velocity and pressure test several rifles. I believe it may need a new battery which should be installed by Oehler. I have the original e-mails when I corresponded with Oehler about possibly needing the new battery.

I'll sell everything that came with it except the skyscreens.

Sorry about the late reply as I was out of town -- also I don't know how to message you!

I'd like to get $500.00 for this one too.

I've got the original tool box that came with it and the tools as well as a few strain gages. You'd have to get an updated program from Oehler to run it on a Windows 7 and newer computer as well as new cable to connect to a newer laptop.

As I mentioned about the battery -- it works fine as long as it's plugged into a power source but doesn't last long when just using the internal battery. I can provide the e-mails I got from Oehler about the battery.
