Columbus Sportsman's Association is once again offering their Long Range Training Class. Sportsman, Hunter, and others interested in long range shooting can benefit from this class.

Where: W10924 Breyer Rd., Columbus, WI Columbus Sportsman's Association Home Page
When: 9:00 am. to 4:00pm. Saturday January 9th. 2016.

What you will learn…

1. Mil Dot and MOA systems of measurement.
2. Exterior Ballistics.
3. Ranging Distance.
4. Reading the Wind.
5. Putting it all together to make the shot at any distance.

What you will need….

Study Materials

1. Paper or notebook.
2. Calculator.
3. Pen & Pencil.

At the Range…

1. A rifle* you can comfortably shoot 50 rounds with that has a scope suitable for long range.
2. A spotting scope if you need one.
3. 50 rounds of the same ammo. No Full Metal Jackets Please.
4. Rest, Bi-Pod, and or bags you intend to use.
5. Ear & Eye protection.

Class Breakdown
9:00 am. – 12:00 pm. Classroom instruction.
12:00 pm. – 4:00 pm. Range qualification. (25-200 yards.) If the class finishes early I will open the 600 yard range for use by qualified participants.

Suggested pre-class study. Long Range Shooting Simulation

* Rifle must shoot groups of 2" or less at 100 yards.

Class Fee: $50.00, Cash or Check payable to Columbus Sportsman's Association.

Open to Non-Members.

Application above. Print , complete, bring to class with payment.

You may use your .338LM, I do not recommend it. 5 shots for score at 25, 50, 100, and 200 yards, plus sighters. Maybe 50 rounds in all.

I'm going to try to come.

I can bring my .223 for the class, maybe get some target time at 200yards if we get a chance with the .338LM to zero it in.

I was planning on going to Ohio to shoot next weekend if there was room in a match there, so I'm still up in the air.

Don't hold a spot for me, but I'll let you know by Thur if I'm coming for sure.

Can't make this class session, wife's birthday. Will you be conducting more classes in the future. What is the total number of participants you can handle.

Yes, I'll post them.

We had a great class today with10 in attendance. We will do this again when it's warmer.
We can do 16 in one class, 32 if we split the class.
