Anyone have good or bad experiences w/this scope for hunting? Long range has good magnification, but short range??? Im trying to convince myself its a good scope for my 6.5x47... Someone talk to me

When I had mine I only used it for BR. It was a target-dot. I sold it simply because I made a considerable profit on it. Wish I had kept in many a time. I'd hunt it.

i have 3 of these one on a ar-15 in a 204 1 on a 220 swift on a custom single shot and the third on a 300win. have had these for 8 t0 12yrs. they are all mil-dots that is my only complaint wish the dot was smaller

So do you have a hard time finding your target quickly or is the field of view wire enough?

If the scope is turned up to far perhaps so. Most if not all of my shooting is beyond 200yds so I generally have time to make adjustments.

Ive hunted with my 6.5-20 Leo last 5 yrs and I want more on low end for bears in area and jump shooting trophy type animals.Have taken 3 in 5060 yrd type but it has small field and better than what your looking at.Changing it out this year.

I also am a huge Leupold fan and have 3.5x10's, 4.5x14's & 6.5x20's, the next one I'll go with is the vx-6 4x24. I hunt a lot, and if you ever find yourself hunting elk or anything else in timber, you won't like the 8x min., IMO!
