Also, check your trim length each time. Not trimming can cause over pressure and case head separation. I have seen this happen.

What part of Oregon were the Blacktails harvested from? 250 lb deer is no problem for .243 Win. Still, not hard to kill. I have killed Elk much bigger than that with .243 Win.

I've hunted Blacktail in Oregon most of my life and would not use anything larger than a .243 Win. Blacktail are like a large German Shepherd and are not hard to kill. If you valve the meat at all, .270 and up is way overkill. I've seen the entire front half of Blacktail blown completely apart...

That is the main reason I haven't switched to Baesmap, because it does not have the "track up" feature for navigating. We use that feature in Onx all day while navigating in the back country. I told Basemap that as soon as they add that important feature I would switch over.

I just use a Blackhawk Serpa with a molle adapter on my MR Pop-Up 28. Normally I don't use mechanical retention but on a hunting rig I don't want the pistol getting yanked out by brush.

It's funny how people always tweak the data to make their prefered cartridge appear superior. Browning makes a 1:8 twist 7mm Rem Mag that will shoot the Berger 195's just fine.

A second day pack would be redundant and unnecessary weight IMO.
