Which Berger are you using?

I know folks are using them and apparently like their results, but I’ve always been hesitant to use a match bullet (ELDM and others) as opposed to a designated hunting bullet like the LRX, ELD-X, Accubond, etc. I’m seriously considering trying some of the Hammers, just sure which one to start...

Oops, replied to wrong post. Using the 265 LRX, 89.4 H1000, Lapua brass, Fed 215 mag match primers.

I’m using this load with the Fed 215GMM primers with very good results. Four one shot kills out to 424 yards so far and it’s fun on steel out to 1500 the one chance I had to try it. Can’t kill ‘em too much in my mind.

I’ve got the Savage LRH in 338LM and absolutely love it. Changed over to the 419 muzzle brake and I swear to you, the recoil is surprisingly low. I’m using the Barnes 280 gr. LRX in my reloads with Lapua brass, Fed 215GM primers, and H1000 powder at a little over 2700 fps (just under max load)...

Utilizing QT’s info, I think the grass removed from the white base and placed over a fan might “do the trick” very well. May just have to give that a try since I’m planning to wet tumble some brass in the next few days…

What does the base look like? Is it perforated/have holes in it?

That Boon rack looks interesting, fer sure. I need to come up with (and then patent) something like this that also has air being pushed up from below to both speed up the exterior of the cases drying plus get some air movement going inside the cases to speed up their drying.

I’m seriously looking to use either the Barnes LRX, AccuBond, or Hammer Absolute Hunter, just got to work up some decent loads. Probably start with the Hammers but that requires some “pioneering” since they’re so new and there isn’t much 6.5CM load data yet. Gonna be “fun”....

I’d love to have them, but all I’ve got close to what’s on your list is one box of the Berger 135gr Classic Hunters and some 140 and 147 ELD’s. Interested in any Federal primers? Got a bunch of several bricks of GM210M’s, GM215M’s, and some regular (blue/grey carton) 215’s.....
