Yes it does shoot clean. What you will see is a white coating in your barrel. But I will tell you is that I can load the 15th round as easy as the first round. believe me once you use it you will never go back to 777, that is what I use to use.3-4 rounds and you would have a f-ck of a time...
First off the 338 lapua was design to fire a 250 gr. bullet at 2900--3000 fps.
Now trying to push a 300 gr. to fast will give you trouble. These savagaes
are only running a 26" barrel,,,,tuff to get high vel with that short of a barrel.
I shoot a 338 RUM with a 30" barrel and only get 2950 fps...
yes most programs are for 1/4" clicks.....if you look around you may be able to find one for 1/2" adjustments.....or use a 1/4" program and cut it in half. good luck with it .Tim
Hay if you guys don't want to use a bushnell....thats ok by me ......what ever floats your boat.I will use mine and not have a second thought above it ....at almost half the cost. by the way i have a leica and i will sell it for $400.00 in a minute if any one wants it.....it a 1200
I would say the Hawkeye scope is a good one to get.....what you can do with it. you can check to see how clean the barrel is,check how good the rifling is, check for Throat erosion, check the crown......butt some times you will find that some copper left in the barrel is a good thing.
I think a 20 moa would do for you never went that far out.....but i think you will have to worry more about going subsonic with your round first....before running out of elevation.Your bullet may start to tumble before it gets there.
I don't know the 50 mm if it will start to get dark at the higher power mag
or not.........my self i won't use a scope over 25 power.....any i tryed seem to start getting darker on the high end of power......just my 2 cents
The one thing i would say to get is a case trimmer for that round,
with the shoulder that this round has you will have to trim the brass
after three or four firings of the brass. A dial caliper you will need if you
don't have one already. a beam scale if you don't have one all ready.
I think you sould think about the Bushnell Elite 1600 ,,it has the ARC for bow and rifle.I got one this week and it has ranged every think from looking in to the sun....ranging 635 to ranging a building at 1775 yards I love it ........I have a
leica 1200 and i can't rage any thing at 400 yards...
