I’d look at Kirby’s LRSS for inspiration.
I’d maintain everything about it just only minor changes. I’d have the barrel finish at .880” @ 30” and run a T3 Terminator brake also, I love the super mag A5
So I bought a gen 3 PRS stock and I find the butt pad/recoil pad on the thick side making the starting LOP long than I’d like! I believe it .80” thick, are there any thinner solutions for I haven’t been able to find one
There’s guys in this Bore bore enthusiast group that just don’t understand speed and how that I brought down a 1500lb water Buffalo with a 30 cal and 181gr bullet.
A lot of speed with the hammers flat base displaces a lot of tissue and does so given its not quote unquote hitting the brakes so...
300 Ax and the 181gr 3500fps. 1600lb water Buffalo. Not a bragging note but that same 181 killed 2 aoudad with a single round. Round punch through both shoulders on the first. Entered the flank on the second, tore through the stomach and liver and the diaphragm... the second was maybe 50 away...
Wait wait wait y’all killed a Buffalo with a 6.5??? Impossible according to the majority of the members in the big bore enthusiast Facebook group.
You need at least 458 win and 500’s or bigger (eye roll)
Those shooting the absolute hammer in severely overbore chambers, are you still seeing gains like what the less intense chambering are experiencing?
I was looking at the 30cal 178 and thought it would be a suitable replacement to the 181 hammer hunter I currently shoot out of my 300 Lapua...
Digging this post up as I had a post on my Instagram roll across with the 375 Raptor in it!
looks like a thumper for sure! Looks like 18” is most ideal for length and performance?
how’s the recoil? Take anything with it?
