Yeah the only difference I notice is my .223, shoots about 2 min low and then it's spot on. If I heat the barrel up pretty hot and wait about 10 mins before I shoot again, it does the same thing
I have a .338 lapua and haven't shot it enough to tell you much but it is a proven round and it's the most fun round I have ever shot by far, kickes the right amount and can get out and touch some steel and do some good damage. Rounds are very pricey and that's the only reason I put the gun down...
Thanks for the replays guys, I ended up starting in between low and mid range, had 2 loads and the hotter load was very impressive, the other actually didn't stabilize. Had 4 shots that showed an inch or so long in the paper at 100 yards. Shootin .223 today.
I have a nosler book and it recommends using nosler casings with the specific charge but I already have horniday, .338 laupa .223 and .270... Do I need to buy new brass or a new book or just go off of nosler specs? Thanks yall
Update, I tried shooting it again, shot about 10 rounds out of it and was disappointed. About 6 Minuet group moving up down left and right without touching turrets..
Okay guys I have an update, 5 out of 12 ring screws were under torqued (assuming the spec is 15 but I'm not positive) they were actually under 10 in lbs. the other 7 were over tight by a few inches. The rail mounts were at almost 60 in lbs. I have scope off and I'm using a lapping bar on rings...
