I'll echo what has been said previously, I have 2 both classic select and just picked up a Montana. 280AI and 30'06. The classics will shoot somewhere around 1/2" with hand loads. Haven't had time with the Montana yet. Well balanced rifles, easy to carry, shoot good. What's not to like. One...
I have 4 of these rifles in different calibers. 1 in 280 like this one. All shoot pretty well to exceptional. All under MOA with preferred loads but I do hand load for them. My 280 will put 3 139gr SST's in 3/4" easily. One thing that hasn't been mentioned that I do notice is that the lighter...
Either are fantastic cartridges And will fill the bill with what you seek splendidly. You could argue valid points in both directions. I have both and have cleanly taken whitetail with them both. That being said I'm particularly fond of the 25. It 'kills' way above its weight class. I generally...
Looking for thoughts on building on a Kimber platform From anyone who has fooled with the Kimber action. I know the more popular options are Remington, Savage, or custom, but I'm a fan of the Mauser action and just had an 8400 in 30'06 pop up that I can buy reasonable. I know the bolt face would...
Looking to buy trade or what? Rifle length pistol? I might be interested in doing some trading. Several guys around here have encores and we trade around from time to time just to have something different.
I’ve got a Ruger 77 compact stainless laminate in 260 that I put together for my wife a few years back. Just kinda hangs out in the safe now as she hasn’t hunted or shot for some time now. Nothing real fancy. Just a solid dependable rifle.
Yeah I seen it. Just joined over there and you have to be a member for 7 days and have 10 posts before you can use the classifieds. I appreciate the heads up.
Youngest son decided he wants a stainless 25-06 for Christmas. He was looking at the browning x bolt white gold maple medallion but just can’t swing that kind of funds right now. I’m thinking maybe 700 Remington so we can build it as he sees fit. What you guys have out there.
Yeah I agree IMR 4350. Never have tried much else cause it's been such a great performer for me. CCI 200, Remington or Win brass, 53.0 grs behind a Partition, 3300 fps. Certified whitetail slayer. A Barnes should work great as well..
I'm a fan of the 260 for such a role. It needs no introduction on here I'm sure, but I'll just say you can shoot 100-120 grain bullets for deer that are devastating. I have a 700 LSS Mtn that loves 120 Barnes X. I also have a Ruger 77 Compact Stainless laminate that I set up for my wife that she...
