    Improving the 308 Win performance

You certainly made a statement! Will the unasked for advice be of any use to anyone on this thread; who knows? Everyone else, please go back to your .308 work. Me, I’m fixin’ to go lost up some brass--338-378!

Golly-gee schucks heck-fire! Either you do not know how to do be funny, or you are a bit prickly today. I was just lathe-ing around and mill-doin’ when I came across your post. You have a few burrs around the edges of your work your own dang self. I take it that you did not “run” your diatribe...

    Reloading gloves?!

I reckon I would fit in that category (you know--someone you don’t like), but I could load your shells “into a throw away piece,” what ever that is!

    Impressed with my 17WSM.

My .17 HMR misfires almost as much as it fires. I am wondering if my ammo has gotten old, or is it my firing pin? I am going to replace the rifle before hunting season this fall. I want a .17 WSM--if I am find a good one at a reasonable price. My current .17 HMR is a Marlin, stainless steel...

    300 Weatherby against 338 Lapua

338-378 Weatherby! Got mine last year and I love it. I also have a 378 Weatherby for heavy bullets.

My dad was like that. We were only allowed to shoot cottontails in the winter. As my three sons got bigger we had a game going where we only took canned beans and rice to our hunting property. If they did not kill something like a cotton tail, we ate beans and rice. One day I got on the...

If a man speaks in the wilderness where no woman can hear --- is he still wrong?

My apologies. You were a stud buffalo back in those days!

Yep, could be time to learn to like chucks and ground squirrels. Ate quite a few armadillo in my youth. Now, I think I’ll stick with the grass eaters. Like moose, elk, whitetail and mule deer. Actually, all kinds of deer, and my all-time favorite—bison.

Strange; you look like a spring baby buffalo in your avatar. I should be so lucky!

    New Rifle Purchase Decision

I am a bit curious myself. Call me stupid, but I can’t understand your reply to Lee7588. That throws my whole line of thought off. Care to explain further?

    New Rifle Purchase Decision

Accidentally pressed the reply icon, but since I’m here; let me say that the bolt on my 378 Bee has a little slack in it. It also needs a new barrel so I would expect a little slack on a Japanese made rifle I bought in 1979. My new 338-378 has as much slack as the older Weatherby. The 338-378...
