I shoot IMR8208. Mine has this labeled, MILITARY SURPLUS GUNPOWDER and has LOT#. I still shoot IMR8208 in tight neck 6ppc,tight neck 222IMP and few others. I've never tried IMR 8208 XBR so no help.

My 280AI has 27" Lilja barrel. Peterson brass Fed 210 59.5gr R-26 2941fps

I have 2-30-06. One is model 70 with Bartlien barrel other Rem700 with Shilen barrel. I wish I could say I hunt every year with them but have few other rifles I like.

My first Ackley was 7x57AI. I wish I had Peterson back then.

Gunsmith that build my 35 WhelenAI used a Wilson 35 Whelen seater for AI seater and 30-06 neck die for AI.

I shoot 35 WhelenAI and it has 24" Kreiger barrel,1/14 twist. I'm shooting R15 with 225gr AB. How much case capacity did you gain with AI case? Have you talked to anyone about 12 twist?

I would do 284 on long action and seat bullet out around 3.200" I'm going to use mine first rifle elk season here in Co. I'll take 280AI as back up rifle.

I have pre 280AI. I use Redding body die and neck bushing die, You could fire form new case instead of chamber cast.. You might consider having new die made using bushing without expander. Redding quit making dies for that pre spec. I have spec 280AI and I use Redding body die and same...

He is shooting pre spec 280AI so no spec on chamber.

M1 Garand,boot camp USMC 1960.

My Peterson 280AI brass is .309 OD. I order .311,.310 and .309 bushing and I use 2 different ones based on which bullets I load. Necks varied .001+ and I may clean up necks. I have few tight neck rifle so no big deal on turning necks.
