    .03-06 lrx

has anyone tried the 200 grain barnes lrx for a .03-06? And if so what kind of accuracy results were you getting? Also what powder, primer, casing, and powder charge, worked for you? I think H4350 will be my powder choice. My barrel length is 24in with a 1:10 twist. Any info would be great!

    Magnum obsession seems real

I'm dont own any magnums; I have always had an admiration for the 6.5mm calibers like the 6.5 prc, 6.5-06, 6.5×284, 6.5-300 etc, and the ole .270. My opinion is those bullets are pound for pound the best performing rounds. Granted at very long distances they do fall a little short on energy; but...

Lapping Vortex 30mm precision match rings

See my problem is I don't know how far down the rabbit hole to go. I could bed my rail, lap my rings, do both, or not do any of it....

Lapping Vortex 30mm precision match rings

I haven't bedded the rail, didnt know if that option was better than the other. Does it seem like most guys that go with a picatinny rail mount bed it instead of lapping? I could see how that would work since you are truing the rail to the action. Where as if the rings were tapped into the...

Lapping Vortex 30mm precision match rings

Yeah man I hear ya, at this point I think lapping is a must. That way I know for sure I did everything right the first time. Thanks for your input

Lapping Vortex 30mm precision match rings

I'm in the process of building a new long distance rifle. I dont know whether or not to lap my new rings. As I said they are the Vortex 30mm precision match rings. I talked with Vortex and they said lapping is not necessary since the rings are made to such tight tolerances. I know the benefits...

    Remington 700 bottom metal

Wyatt's makes an M4 style DBM that is designed to mount straight into a Rem 700 BDL with very little or no alterations. That's what I'm gonna put on my rifle. And it sits flush

Barrel diameter at crown for rem 700 sps .30-06

So I'm looking to install the Apa little bastard muzzle brake on my rem 700 sps 30-06. A local gunsmith said it requires 5/8x24 thread and my barrel needs to be at least .700. Does anyone know what the crown barrel diameter is for this rifle? I dont have access to a caliper, otherwise I would...

    Why the 6.5 caliber?

I think the main reason why the 6.5 bullets are taking off is that you get more for less in a way. You get a mild recoil, high bc, flat shooting bullet that performs just as well as some of the magnum calibers. Granted the magnums will always have more down range energy at longer distances, but...
