I figured it out a while ago, the gun was copper fouling really fast. The scope is a good scope, no complaints. The gun seems to have stopped fouling for the most part now that it's been shot more.
I made a dummy cartridge last night using a 130 grain Nosler Ballistic tip beacuase that's what i decided on. The OAL to the tip turned out to be 3.335 as i seated the bullet to clip length. According to my hornady OAL gauge using a bullet comparator this is about .1 off the lands. Does this...
I agree, i honestly bought a tikka because of their reputation. I have cleaned the bore with butchs bore shine and gotten rid of the yellow streaks. If it doesnt group well when i shoot it tomoro, next thing i am going to do is borrow a leupold scope that i know is good. If its neither of those...
I looked down my barrel with a flashlight and could see yellow streaks. I bought a bottle of butchs bore shine today and plan to clean it and possibly shoot it tomorow. Hopefully that copper is what is affecting my accuracy
I used the hornady comparator thats why i was confused when the maximum length found with my oal gauge and a vmax bullet was .040 shorter than the factory winchester to the ogive. I have checked action bolts. Next im gonna look at the barrel with a borescope to make sure its ok then clean well...
I have one more question about the gun. I bought a hornady oal gauge and tried it yesterday with a vmax bullet. I also used a bullet comParator to measure the oal. Although i do not remember the length i get it ended up being about .040 shorter than winchester factory ammo, i double checked...
The first time i shot it sighting it in it seemed to be adjusting correctly then since that it has done what you said. Any suggestions on copper solvent?
I have shot both remington and winchester so far and both shot poorly. And i did switch to a one piece rod, and need to purchase a bore guide. I think i will try a different scope although i doubt a brand new nikon is bad. I have been getting a strange marking on brass. A groove down a couple...
I purcased a tikka t3 lite 270 winchester at the end of last summer, and have never gotten it to shoot good groups. I have been using factory loads to try to get it to group but it hasn't worked. It is consistently getting 3-5 inch groups and I'm not sure why. I put new scope rings on just in...
OK, the only thing i was wondering about is if you would be seen easier if the decoy was upwind of me, but I'll give it a try next time i go coyote hunting!
I just got into coyote hunting and purchased a mojo rabbit decoy and a foxpro electronic call. I have done some research and found in a wooded area the call should go upwind Of where im sitting and the decoy downwind. So it doesnt matter if the decoy isnt next to the call? The coyotes will...
