I like 168 to 180 wt loads in both 300wm & 300Sm. I have harvested mule deer at 440 yards. Neither like the heavy bullets 200 plus. The burgers that I have purchased will shoot hole for hole , five shots. My 300sm likes a clean barrel , the 300wm likes a foul round. Both are stainless

I have been hunting turkeys in Mi for over forty years.

Full choke for steel shot. I purchased an 870 several years ago for duck hunting. Needed another shotgun for my grandson to turkey hunt and tried it. Could not believe the pattern I got shooting #4 copper buffered shot. Still use it today, patterns better than high priced turkey chokes.

If you take black thread and tape a cross at the muzzle and line the crosshairs. Also go out 100 yards if possible and make a big cross on your target to look at through the barrel or a soda straw on a lever action. You will be surprised how close you will be.
