Well per Alliant's data for the 338 Lapua, they didn't give the the 338/378 data mind you, with a 250gr Nosler Partition, in a 24" barrel 86.7gr of Re26 for 2811fps.

I'm one of those who never could get H1000 to shoot in anything. As for other powders, there's a lot that shoot good. I've had excellent luck with IMR4350, Retumbo, and 7828. Reloder 22, 25, and 33 are supposed to all be good choices as well.

Thats what Ive had the best accuracy with, as well as IMR 4350, under 160gr partition.

Very nice looking rifle! I know they made Abolt-IIs in 300 and 338RUM some time back, when the RUM was the chambering to have. I have another odd RUM, a model 70 stainless, and it can drive nails at 200yards. Anytime I see a RUM in something other then a remington, I have to smile.

I havent had alot of luck with H1000 with 200 gr Noslers. I use a max charge of Retumbo in remington brass, and federal primers with great success. If I go back to 180gr, I may try H1000 again. YMMV though with each gun.

I made some loads up with H1000, and federal magnum primers a month ago. Took them to the range, and wasnt impressed at all, sadly. Have done the best with retumbo so far, and will be making new loads for that again.

Only thing I can suggest is hooking up with one of us that live here, and next year, we can make a swing by where you plan to hunt, and let you know if the roads are shutdown.

Im using full length size RCBS dies, adjusted to necksize only, using retumbo powder, and accubonds and partition bullets in the 160gr. Was using federal brass, but switched to winchester brass. Ive had decent luck with it so far.
