Custom Left Hand Rifles - 4 to 6 week completion times on left hand rifles

Re: Left Hand Rifles - How much interest is there in "Ready To Ship" left hand rifles I bought my first lefthand rifle in 1975. It was a Mark V Weatherby in .240 Weatherby. Previously, I had used what most lefthanders get by with: right hand bolt actions, semi-autos, etc. Since then, I have...

Varmint Hunter: I am not aware of this outfitter. But, this is a big state with many of them, so that means nothing. I would try to offer you any information if I had any.

The Ultimate Light Weight Sheep Hunting Rifle - What Is It?

That is a very nice combination. I love the A-bolt Brownings, and I had a Medallion in .223 that I shot so much at jacks that I shot the barrel out.

bozo699: Thank you for the welcome! I do not recall that I have ever been to Anatone, although I was raised in Cottonwood, Idaho, and am generally familiar with most of the area. I have probably been to Asotin, and recently traveled to Joseph, OR via Halfway, last year to attend an art...

The Ultimate Light Weight Sheep Hunting Rifle - What Is It?

I do agree with Harold regarding getting in shape, rather than fretting over an ounce here or there on your rifle and scope combination. After all, you are going to be wearing some kind of a pack, carrying ammo, carrying water, carrying lunch, be dressed warmly, etc. Accordingly, spend more...

    Thoughts on a 25-06?

jlamb: That is very good accuracy with your Model 70. What powder are you using, and what is the velocity?

    Thoughts on a 25-06?

jlamb: I do not reload for the 25-06, but my brother does, and I must have at least 600 or more fired cases for it. My brother has developed several loads that he likes for it, one for varmints, and another for game. I have two Sakos in 25-06, and they seem to be a bit temperamental about...

    Thoughts on a 25-06?

I have found ammo to be readily available at the larger retail stores such as Cabela's and Sportsman's. But, at smaller shops, ammo is sometimes a bit hard to come by. The 25-06 is an excellent round for deer-sized game, can be used for larger game such as elk, and can also be used for...

    Thoughts on the 270 Weatherby?

The 270 Weatherby is almost as good as it ever gets for a long range medium game cartridge. With premium big game bullets such as the Nosler Partition, the Barnes line, and others, and a good rifleman, it is lightning on elk-sized game out to 500 yards or so. The recoil in a well-fitted...

OK again. Just a few years ago I made a one-shot kill on a moving elk at a lazered 525 yards. But, perhaps that does not count in your book.

OK again. I know you probably meant well, but I did not totally miss your point. I have been shooting for fifty years, and have probably shot 50,000 or more rounds at varmints. I have also shot a few dozen deer, two elk, and a pronghorn.

fj40mojo: Thank you for the welcome! You must have an FJ40. I had a 1966 LC and it was a good machine! Poor heater and defroster, noisy, not very good mileage, but almost indestructible. Now, I have a 1995 LandCruiser, and a 2000 Lexus LX470, so I have stayed in the Toyota fold.

Well, of course. However, I would point out that punching paper and shooting at live targets with a brain are two very different endeavors. I have hunted with a lot of paper punchers, and while many of them are quite good at that, when it comes to live game, all of a sudden, they can't pull...

Well, I make one. I live near Boise, Idaho. I punch very little paper, but I am interested in long range big game hunting, varmint shooting, and the like. I do a lot of rockchucks, jacks, and ground squirrels.

Hello to All I am a new member living near Boise, Idaho. I do a lot of varmint shooting, including jacks, rockchucks, and Townsend ground squirrels. This year, I may attempt a wolf. However, in general, I would like the wolves, except for their highly detrimental impact to game populations...
