Good deal buddy! Yeah I've found mine shoots it's best through a clean bore. So every time I stop I run a snake through it. Give it a minute to cool a little, then continue shooting. The snake helps. But it's no substitute for a brush and patches. And it keeps you at the range longer.

Thought you'd wanna see this too. It should probably be in the reloading section. But since its from the gun shown above. I think it's fine. Two 5 shot groups at 100yards. 43.5 grains IMR 4064 (left target) is an oal of 2.80" average velocity of 2645 from the rifles 20" barrel. (right target)...

So it was Christmas time last year.. I was in the market for a new rifle. Was looking for a savage. But the Sportsmans in my area didn't have the modal I wanted. Or a cheaper version with accutrigger. I was at the gun counter and was looking at the sales catalog and some of offers they had...

    DIY fiberglass stock

Ok haven't been hard at it because i've been pretty sick. Something the kids had to share with me. But here's a couple of pics. So decided to use body filler because it'll seal up the Styrofoam as well as create a hard shell for waxing and gel coat. Now to let you all know. I'm not an auto...

Went to a few of the auto parts houses in my area. No epoxy based resin. So decided to go with body filler or "bondo" to get the hard shell and seal I'm after.

@ kiwi 3006.. So microballoons are they beads? And applying the epoxy.. Do I just use a sheet rock knife and kinda put it on like peanut butter? I only thought spraying it would keep it even. But I guess that's more critical on your gel coat? On your mold? I have lots of questions..

A friend of mine said an epoxy resin would do the trick. Only thing i worry about with that is the solvent I'd use to lean it down so I could spray it. Might eat the styrofoam. But an epoxy would give it a nice hard sand able wax able shell. And yep I'm gonna make a mold.

Thought I was done didn't ya? When you made the silicone mold in two pieces? Did you mean top and bottom? And joining the two halves of the stock. You laid three layers of glass and resin did you sandwich them in there when you bolted the mold together?

I apologize for asking if you had mentioned it already but did you completely fill the for end with glass and resin? If so do your swivel studs stay in? Or did you back it up with wood? Also (don't mean to be a pain) when you bedded your action how much of a void did you have to fill? Was it...
