    Lasik eye surgery

Had Lasik 9 years ago. My eye sight went from 20/225 Lt and 20/245 Rt to 20/10 Lt and 20/15 Rt. Holy **** man! I never new anyone could see that good! Back then they put in a soft contact (as a bandage) immediately after the procedure which they would remove the next day, so I couldn't see ****...

    "Quick Load " Program question?

    I'll second that thought.

    44Mag Pressure?

I'll venture to say that relying on primer flattening is not the best idea. The only pistol round that I've even considered using primers flattening as a sign of high pressure was my dads S&W 460 mag. Beyond that I've always used a chronograph to approximate where I was in the loads pressure range.

Experience with Hornady SST on deer?

As a matter of fact it is a 270x300Rum, so yes it's a 7mm Rum necked down. I had it built after the 300rum came out but just before the 7mm was introduced. With a 30" barrel and some H-50BMG I was able to push the 150grainers to over 3650fps, but decided that was far enough. With WC872 I was...

Experience with Hornady SST on deer?

I've used the 150gr 270 cal SST to take deer or sheep from 100 out over 1000yds and have yet to be disappointed. Muzzle velocities were from 2700-3650fps with impact velocities anywhere from 2800 on down to below 1800fps, all bullets opened up and achieved adequate penetration.

    Factory .50bmg loads

I'd venture to say that most all mil-surp rounds will have some steel in them. Thus any ammunition made with surplus bullets would have steel. With that being said all Ball, Tracer, AP, API, APIT ammunition will most likely be at the very least copper clad steel jackets, with the possible...

    cold powder

In my experience ball powders, will have a very large drop in velocity when you have a large drop in temperature. The drop in velocity is also a sign of a drop in the chamber pressure and as a result the shot to shot consistancy goes away. I found that when using ball powders that the only way...

    Considering 7mm Ultra

Can't comment on the velocity, but the barrel life will likely be in the 750-1250rd neighborhood. depending on how hard you push it and how hot you lets things get.

    AA Powder Question?

Magpro is nowhere near as slow burning as AA8700. In my experience it falls somewhere inbetween H4831, IMR7828, and H1000, where as AA8700 is as slow as 5010, 50BMG, H870, or WC 872.

    Double Tap Ammo

What J E Custom said. It's not an actual change in the trajectory, but a change in the point of impact caused by a different projectile. This can be a bit easier to see when you have several different bullets loaded to different velocities. Shooting these loads at 100yds you might end up with a...

    another quick load question

Fudging the numbers a little to get 2860 with Ramshot magnum, then subtituting in the WC 760. The maximum chamber pressure goes from 62kpsi (Magnum) to 102kpsi (W 760) @ 3190fps. I would attribute the 24" descrepency in drop to the poi changing and not to a flatter trajectory.

    Loaders not the same...

Nat I wasn't questioning your experience or trying to contradict you in any way. I was simply tring to understand the situation, seeing that you neglected to include the details in your first post. Having 3 different presses (RCBS Rock Chucker, Ammo master, and Hornady LNL Auto...

    Loaders not the same...

Just how exactly did you "ruin" the brass. What operation were you preforming, what dies. Unless your using some specialized dies that will allow you to push the shoulder back to far, there isn't anything I can think of that would constitute ruined brass. Even if the shoulders were set back...

    55gr .243

Now, you really didn't say what the intended purpose is for the bullets mentioned (target, varmint, larger game, or just playing around), so it's not really that easy to answer your question, but I'll take a stab at it. Now as far as wether or not the bullets will be accurate under the...

    As Promised, 30-30 Load Data

Not getting involved here. RT2506, I don't remember reading in Justgotos post, him asking for anyones opinion. I've been a member of this forum since it started, and I've been seeing an increase of post such as yours. Now I'm not saying that your post was out of line, but you must...
