Len are you a nikon shooter? I really like that 200-400 F4
VR lens.. The d2x gives alot of flexibility with the crop mode. I shoot canon now but I dont have a pro body or 400mm+ glass. I did buy a 70-200 f4 L. And its worth every penny.. I havent invested alot of cash in canon yet so it would...
Start with 36.0gr of RL-15 and work up till you get the speed you want.. I have a slow lot of rl-15 and I am pushing
55gr bst at 4,000fps with 42.5gr of rl-15.. Since you are using the barnes I would start at 35 or 36gr of rl-15 and check the speed on a chrono then add more powder..
For Sale NightForce Benchrest Model 12-42x56, NP-R2
I used this scope very little. It has a couple of very small
marks on it. There is No scope ring marks. I bought this scope from Bill Shehane at D & B Supply. $825 shipped
I have one of the older 4200 elite 6x-24x scopes that doesn't have the MOA numbers on the target knobs. My friend bought one last year and that one had MOA numbers on the target knobs. Nice scope for the $$..
I am using 49.0 gr of imr-4350 with sierra blitz 80gr bullets for 3,450fps.. for 75gr v-max it does 3550fps
I am sure that if you used H 4350 the max load would be a couple of grains less. 210 match primers.. also my gun
had a short throat... oal was 2.270
I wonder if H870 or wc872 would work good in
your .257 AM. I wish you would test some lighter bullets just for kicks to see how much speed you could get out of them. I know this wildcat was built for the heavy bullets but it would be interesting to see
how fast it would shoot 85gr or 100gr...
Thats the reason i didnt have you to build me .257 stw Fiftydriver. I was afraid with the lighter bullets 115gr 100gr 85gr that the 257 stw wouldnt be much faster than a
30 inch barreled .257 weatherby. As i have
a stash of ultra strong .257 weatherby brass. This stuff is alot stronger than...
i gave nosler a call a few weeks back about the new accubonds in .257. They told me that
is was a 100gr bullet. That midway had it listed wrong. Now on their forums they say
it is a 110gr..
Its a 100gr bullet not 110gr. Im pretty
sure thats a typo on midway's site.
They will be out in december. They are making a 150gr .308 and also a 180gr .338
i heard that winchester might release
a 2.5 inch length short mag case.. i
think first will be in .338. i cant remember
what other calibers it will be in. I have also heard that hornady is working on a smaller .17 centerfire.. THey were messing
with the .30 carbine case.. i know james
calhoon...
