    Elevation and ballistics

I planned on sighting in my rifle to different ranges and recording the MOA and using that in CO. Where we are going in Maybell, it is 7000ft elevation. The "guide" told me to sight my rifle in at 100 here in FL, and it would be dead on at 300 yards. Is this guy crazy because I didnt know...

I have a model 700 laminated stock. Are they going to have to make the chanel bigger so the barrel will fit?

What brand barrel is best for the 300RUM. I am looking for accuracy and performance (velocity). What is the optimal length? How much velocity will I gain?

    Elk load for 300RUM

I just got a letter in the mail from the R&R ranch in CO. It states all the gear necessary to bring and mentions that a recommended weight of 150-165gr bullet will be ideal for long range shots. No reccomended calliber. I was going to load 180 partition or 200accubond, but should I consider...

    dialing in long range game

Maybe I was a little vauge with my question. I do have a rangefinder, I reload and I have a chronograph. I usually just sight my rifle in for 300 yards and If anything is out to 400, I hold a few inches over. I have only taken whitetail out to 400. So Elk is new for me. I just got this long...

Which is better, 300 RUM or 338 RUM?

25-06, I have a 300RUM LSS. This thing is a beast compared to my 06. I dont know how big you are, but im 18 and weigh about 165 and this gun knocked my socks off with 180gr partitions. I opted for the muzzlebreak which now kicks less than my 30-06. But its super loud. I was torn between...

    300 Ultra "Coyote" load

Barry, How accurate are those 125 grain NP? You can go a little hotter with that load, the book lists a 125gr nosler with 100grains of H4831 listing 3800. Does the slower load work out a little better.

    300 Ultra "Coyote" load

I shoot 165gr out of my 300RUM. I use 100gr of RL25 and get 3/4 inch at 100yards. Might get better if you use 99 or 98 grains but with 100 im getting 3450fps. Pretty quick.

    NOSLER Bonded Bullets - .30 and .338

Okay, I just called Nosler and spoke with a technician there. He said that the 200 grain bullet would be better than the 180 and that the accubond and partition are very similar. However, If I were going long range, the accubond would be more superior.
