I tried some 55gn Berger FB target bullets in my rifle. They shot really good, but I was unable to get more locally, so I moved on. Great bullets BTW.
I have these 55gn V-max shooting 3/4MOA or better most groups. SO I'm happy for now. I loaded 500 of them with IMR8208XBR. gun)
Thanks for the comments fellas. I have tried the 55gn V-max with great results, I really like the 55gn BlitzKing from Sierra. So far the BlitzKings perform the best in my rifle. I have 6lbs of factory seconds here, to load up, as soon as I settle on a final charge. Freakin' wind so far wants to...
A buddy of mine was shooting 36gr Varmint grenades, then went to 50gr VG because he was getting splash wounds on coyotes over 100 yards. With the 50's I figured problem solved. We spent the past couple weeks working up loads for both of our rifles. Well today, we got a chance to try them out...
nope, only that one time. I had just got the rangefinder and we had been playing with it all afternoon. She won't even go to the range with me. She knows her way to the reloading store though.:D

(.277) 140-gr. NOSLER Ballistic Tips BT (Two 100-ct. boxes - same lot number) - or sold separately.
I'll take both boxes if still available.
Buy the biggest safe you can afford. Cannon has a great warranty. My buddy had a house fire, and the Cannon tech was unable to fix the safe, so it was shipped back to Cannon. Three days later an upgraded model was delivered. I bought a Cannon the next week.
We have tried a few different dot sites here, none of which really worked well for our hunting style. I find the good ol' fiber optic bead never fails.
That's fine, I just thought I would offer. I know If I had a chance to handle, and shoot other rifles before buying them I would have been better off in the beginning.
I have both a Remington 700 in .270win and a Stevens 200 in .223rem. If you would like and don't mind the drive. I would be willing to spend the afternoon with you at the range and let you shoot both rifles. You could then make a better decision of which action you like better. I live in...
Where do you hunt and shoot Countryboy? I live in Missouri too. Like you I was looking to extend my range and found this site. There are many helpful people here. I went with a Rem 700 BDL in .270 win. It is capable of range longer than I at this point. If you want to build on a Savage, look at...
