Supposedly it's going into ammo, but I'm not so sure anymore.

I use a alice pack for hunting a buddy gave me, it's much more then I need but on really cold days I'll throw in a wool blanket to make hunts more Enjoyable. Plus my other gear. I'm a big guy so I move slow and rest often. One problem is with the pack on the scope on my rifle will rub the frame...

Wish there were more mauser/m70 type actions out there. Even the Remington clones I'd really would like a bolt lock for actions on hunting rigs.

I would say yes but I'd limit a shot on deer at 500 ish.

I have a Lyman shellholder and it's about .005 lower from the base to the top then my rcbs. Even then the web area is not sizeing as much as I'd won't on the nosler brass.

Welcome from New York, I've got a friend just north of Seattle wonder if you ever crossed paths. I'm trying to make a trip out there next year and making a list on what to check out.

A fast twist 270 would be nice, I get some bullets and primers I can start loading for my 270, will have to use factory ammo this year tho.
