Haha very funny....more like waiting for a break in work and working on financials/house hunting with the wife...deciding to save my vacation time for a nice hunt down in Mississippi. Left the cat problems to one of the guys that pays to hunt out there, he said it broke his trap 3 times so far...
We have a pretty large trap in which we tried what you are asking to do, trap a mountain lion.
Large cylindrical shape trap that we had successfully trapped a bobcat in earlier in the year. It has a small box cage in the top where we put a chicken that can't be harmed by any cat or dog that...
Yeah I know right. Haven't had a chance with work yet. It's 40 minutes just to get out there. Was just trying to compile some advice for when I get a day off.
I have been up in that area many times! Even out around the 4 peaks area they have been pretty strict on road closures in the past, but I had the chance to ask them about it and they said it was actually to keep the dirt bikes and quads out because they keep tearing up too much land by not...
I live on the outskirts of Fort Worth. As far as the hunting goes, to hunt out in Texas it seems you have to hunt on ranch land or find someone that you know with enough acreage to hunt. It's not like AZ where you can go pick a unit that does not require a draw. Very few and limited gov' land...
Thanks, I have had my game camera set up but haven't had time to check it yet. I should be able to check it soon and will post pictures if there are any neat ones.
On dog tracks you can see their nails on all 4 pads, in that picture there are no nail or "claw" marks which aims toward mountain lion. We do have coyotes out here and find tracks pretty often but they are a lot smaller than these. I have also tracked and hunted coyotes in AZ a few years prior...
Last year we saw a lot of exciting stuff on my wife's parents property. All of a sudden, 3 barn/house cats went missing and so did more than 30 chickens. So we set up a trap and caught a bob cat.
Two days later, I found the deer that I was waiting to hunt during deer season dead, half eaten...
I voted Barnes, but personally have not tried the Nosler Partition's. I have heard good things about them though. I first tried the Barnes in my 30-30 on hogs and deer and was very impressed! All dropped where they stood. Now the Barnes may not be my longer distance choice though and will cross...
It is a Remington Model 700? Sorry I am on my phone so it is harder to go back and forth to look at the original post. What caliber is it again? It looked beautiful even in those pictures, why are you wanting to get rid of it?
