I recently used it on a new, properly broken-in .243 that was shooting 3 inch groups. i only shot one group after the tubbs bullets, 4". I sent the gun back to mfr.
There's lots of reviews for these on midway, cabela's. Seem to be about 50/50 love 'em or hate 'em.
I wouldn't recommend...
Yeah I hear ya. I want one to shoot the 80gr pills for better downrange energy, and less powder used (=greater bbl life). Sounds like you built yours for speed!!
Sounds like your WSSM is not an AR, you know it will fit right?
I don't know much about the AI calibers, is it a BR type casing? They make 6mm PPC uppers, I've always been tempted but what a PITA.
Did you ever consider a .223WSSM? It's a little hotter than a 220 Swift (which is hotter than a 22-250), and you can get 8" twist uppers from Oly Arms and Dtech...
Well I made an impulse buy on a custom rig on Gunbroker..... Still not sure I feel about it, but I guess I'll find out when it gets here. It's a Rem 798 (Croatian mauser with Remington engraved on it) in 7mmRM.
It's got an ER Shaw #3 contour (fluted) bbl. installed, trued by manuf. The guy...
All of the above, minus not chambering a round.
First coyote I ever shot at, my friend and I were walking into a spot and a dog jumped up at 40yds and hauled arse. He actually had a rabbit in his mouth which I thought was funny. I emptied my 7mm (4 shots) and my buddy fired 3 out of his...
Yep. I saw a coyote pup about a week ago on the highway. He was actually pretty big, but you could tell he was young because he's at that mis-proportioned age.
Other than that, the rock chuck babies are out. gun)
+1 I wish they had a 1/8 VS SF. I think the only 22-250 made with a fast twist is a savage. A good alternative would be a .223 WSSM, you can get them in 1/8 twist and it's hotter than a 22-250 or .220 swift.
.223 in my neck of the woods is a runner waiting to happen. Average shots are 250+, so I really didn't have much luck with it. Lots of guys around here use 22-250, .220 Swift, and .243. I have a .243 WSSM upper with a 1/8 twist that I can't wait to try out on a song dog, I just know I'm gonna...
I used my 7mm pretty much exclusively this past season for coyotes. There were a couple that were really messy, like gut shots with a 100gr HP. I used that Sierra Varminter 100gr for most of my kills (before I really understood the difference between .2 and .6 BC at 400yds) This year I'm...
