    Offset Synthetic Stock

My hunting partner lost his dominant (right) eye during his law enforcement career and hasn’t been able to transition to left hand. Years ago he came across a wood “offset” stock and put his Rem 700 .270win in it and has been pretty happy with it but would like to upgrade. Last year when we...

Lead poisoning from eating game shot with lead core bullets?

When I was kid my buddy and I lived with our Sheridan air rifles all summer. My first rifle went through 5+ boxes of pellets before the seals started leaking. Most of those 2500 pellets spent time in my mouth as I would always have 3-4 of them in my mouth when we were out killing things with...

    Basemap vs Onx

That was a great write up, hopefully others will find it helpful. I've been using Basemap for a while now and I really like it alot. With any of these map programs the key is to get out and use them until you are very familiar. I will say that there are WAY more layers than I'll ever use. After...

Good long range scope with zero stop for beginner

Has anybody used an Arken scope? They have a lifetime warranty that includes adjustment accuracy. Also has zero stop, FFP and MIL, Japanese glass for what thats worth. They do have an MOA option as well. Each scope is tested when it arrives to verify the windage/elevation adjustments are...

Hodgdon is getting on my last nerve

The first time I went through a H4350 shortage I switched to Reloder 16 and haven't gone back. Now with the Varget shortage going on for some time I'm experimenting with the Shooters World Precision. If it is as close to Varget as is claimed, I won't be looking for more Varget since it is 10...

    Basemap vs Onx

I've been real happy with Basemap, especially because from what I've experienced its the same level of performance but at a much lower price. One person pointed out that to get the hunt zone boundaries it is 10 bucks more for a total of 40 dollars, but you get all 50 states. The cheapest...

    Basemap vs Onx

Jarheadhunter wrote : "Maps on the Basemap you can load as big as you want in high detail instead of 1 mile on ONx." I don't have OnX anymore to check, but he is saying in high detail OnX is limited to a mile......

    Basemap vs Onx

BaseMap just started a weather layer, seems to work well. Seems like being able to download map as big as you want in high detail with BaseMap vs one mile with OnX is a plus.

    My Wifes first buck

You're the first to notice the bases/pedicals, also that entire face is white, imo he is quite old and probably will start regressing. I'm happy to say he made it through the season and is a warrior, check out that broken left antler and right side crab claw!

    My Wifes first buck

Thank you all for your kind words of encouragement, I would have responded sooner but I was called out of town for work for 15 days straight. At least the taxidermy bill is covered! For those that asked, this was a C3 buck, skinned/gutted carcass weighed 98 pounds at the butcher.

    My Wifes first buck

Normally I wouldn't pass either, this is the one we were after though which made the decision a little tougher.

    My Wifes first buck

We were after a unique blacktail buck that I had a trail cam pic of but the only time we saw him he was walking too quickly through the oaks for her to get on him. Then after not seeing him for 2 days we were down to the last half hour with only being able to hunt the next morning when we...

    Basemap vs Onx

Watch the tutorials on youtube, some are ok, some are pretty good, but they all help shorten the learning curve.
