The 308 will definitely feel different in a lighter rifle, depending on how light you go, the 6.5 will produce less recoil with the same results. Also just order a Savage ultra light rifle in Either caliber and be done with it.

I used a 300 WM Berger 210’s shot 5 animals the largest was and Eland all dropped right where i shot them, the eland was about 1500 lbs. Berger work great when you put them in the vitals.

I shoot a 338 edge with 300 gr Berger bullets, have shot a 2 big black bears and they drop within 2 yards. I put in for a peninsula brown bear hunt in Alaska this year, what's your thoughts on shooting Berger 300 gr bullets 2825 fps 200 yards 4425 Kinetic energy ?

Just got back from Goat hunt in Alaska, Kyle built a nosler 28 for me, one shot 550 yards hunt was over ! He has built four rifles for me and they all shoot 1/4 MOA or better.
