    cheap scope

I guess it all depends on what you use your rifle for and what you expect it to do. There are still plenty of guys that hunt over iron sights and think this whole argument over what scope to use is silly. To each his own, that's why there are hundreds of scopes, in all price ranges, being...

    cheap scope

Topics about scopes are the equivalent of the old argument about which do you prefer, Ginger or Maryann? Unlike many I always seem to read about, I do not have enough money to pay more for a scope than I do for the rifle I mount it on. As a result, I have to buy cheap scopes in order to shoot...

    smith & wesson scopes

I recently purchased two S&W mil-dot scopes, the 4-18x42 and the 6-24x42, and think they're a bargain for the price. They are made by Hakko, a well established Japanese optical company, and there is some info floating around that they are, "made in the same plant as Nikon scopes." Nikon has...

    Smith & Wesson scopes

I have my S&W 6-24x42 mounted on my rifle and hope to shoot it for the first time this coming weekend. I have since learned that the scope is made by Hakko, in Japan, who also makes scopes for several other Brands. [ 04-26-2004: Message edited by: redshanks ]

    Nikin on a Howa 1500

chetc, first of all, you must mean a Nikon Monarch 6x42, not 6x24; Nikon does not make anything as small as you indicated. According to Nikon, the length of the scope is 12.1 inches, and it should fit in the rings on that rifle without a problem. Do you already have this scope or are you just...

    Smith & Wesson scopes

Q&D, I recently bought a Howa 1500 Supreme Varmint in .22-250 caliber, and just picked it up tonight. With any luck (hiding it somehow from my wife), I will pick up the S&W 6-24x42 scope within the next week, after I find a way to pay for it. Are you saying this is an elcheapo scope? I'm...

    Smith & Wesson scopes

I just bought the last S&W 6-24x42 scope my dealer had. S&W did discontinue it and it was made for them by Nikon. It's a beauty and looks to be a bargain for $219.00.

    Smith & Wesson scopes

I have the same question. A local gun shop has a new S&W 6-24 for $219, which is a lot less than the MSRP of $619.95. I'd like to know who the real manufacturer of this scope is. S&W rifle scopes

spotting scopes - any bargains out there?

I just bought a Bushnell Trophy 20-50x50mm spotting scope from Sports Authority. The regular price was $199.95 and they were on clearance for $89.95. It was a good deal for the money. Bushnell specs
