Help picking the wife’s new elk rig

Friend killed his bull last year at 450 yards and his son killed a 340 bull at 600 yards a few days ago with 6.5 PRC and my Grandson killed his bull with 7-08 Rem. I think these are get calibers for light weight rifles. There are lots of choices for light weight rifles these days. Keep the...

    Ridgeline shoots poorly and jams

Was shooting next to a guy last who bought a Christensen in 300 RUM. When he received it, 300 RUM would not chamber. He called and they said it was a 300 win! Was marked 300 RUM on barrel. Sent it back and they took 6 months to fix problem. Helped him get it on paper at 50 yards and he went...

    Dear Nosler and Berger,

I would like to thank Hornady for keeping bullets in stock. Here in Utah, if it was not for Hornady we would have nothing to load, These companies started making bullets for reloaders. Then suppling bullets for ammo manufacturing, who is more important when supplies are down, reloaders or ammo...

Bipod or shooting sticks for spot & stalk Elk Hunting?

Trigger sticks. Quick to set up, can be used as a walking stick and great for glassing to rest your binoculars on to steady you up. Bipods are useful also but many time grass or brush is to tall.

    Help with cleaning barrel

I had 2 experiences with name brand barrels. First a custom 7mm Rem. Spent a lot on load development with nothing working. Had my gunsmith scoped it and there was a bad spot in middle of barrel, he sent it back and they replaced it. Had a 6.5 prc built with same brand barrel, bullets were key...

    .50 Caliber for Elk Hunting

Old and have a tuff time with iron sights. They have been talking about no scopes in Utah also. They use to allow 1X scopes before scopes were allowed. Funny how archer’s with there primitive weapons are shooting 150 + yards.

    .50 Caliber for Elk Hunting

A bull killed in Fishlake Utah with CVA 50 caliber, 250 yards with no problem. One thing to consider with the CVA LR is they do not have sights, may be a problem where scopes are restricted.

    What press are you using?

Loosening turret on Zero takes seconds and locks up tight.

too many separate operations...looking for an accurate turret press. Is there any such thing? Opinions please.

Beluebow, Get your Area 419 out of box, you will love it. I sold some rifles and had some mad money burning a hole in my pocket so I bought one. I enjoy reloading, the machining and tight tolerances are amazing.
