Just got word to Trim to 2.580” from Rich. I already went down to 2.565”; but shouldn’t hurt anything.

Should I just use 300 PRC data? Hornady is showing 2.580” Max and trim length 2.565”. Will this data work? I’ve got a huge variance due to load development from 2.575” to 2.595” after full length sizing.

Ok, so finally got my AI AXMC bolts and fire control assemblies back, and she‘s running great, no more pierced primers...yippeee! It looks like 80.8 grains of N570 is the ticket for my 28” CarbonSix 28 SM. That’s giving me an average velocity of 3205 FPS @ 80 Deg and 6K’. My SD is staying around...

Here’s an 82.0 primer pierced. No other swipes, no bolt lift at all...so a little strange. So more to follow.

Here’s a 79.0 grain primer, and you can see the pin’s hammering the primer pretty hard with deep indentation.

As far as groups, you can see same hole first 3 at 79.0, lowest SD was 81.1 at 5.8, but not a great group (could have pulled one). Last group at 82.0/ 3250, same hole, bust pierced primers too.

Yes, thanks Chris! I finally got to shoot my ladder this morning too, and experienced very similar data. Same components, very similar seating BTO 2.918 (0.070” jump). It was 74 Deg when I started and about 80 by the end. Station psi 23.80, about 6K’ and RH 34%. I started at 79.0/ 3127 fps and...

I’m looking for double that tension, and my 0.312 bushing is only sizing to 0.313” OD, and not very far down the neck. So I’m waiting on a 0.310” bushing, then plan on running them all through a 0.281” mandrel. They’ll be banging around in an AI AW double-stack mag, so wanting at least 0.003”...

I will for sure! And I’m running a 28” barrel; so hoping to get 3200 with less psi, but we’ll see. And with no QL data, who knows where the accuracy nodes will be.
