The only reduced loads I've come across, and I use them a lot, is with Hodgdon' H4895. You use the maximum published load Hodgdon has for the cartridge and bullet weight and multiply by 0.6. The result is the lowest recommended charge of H4895 for that combination. It's explained on the Hodgdon...

Interesting ... Hornady did offer up online load data for the 6.5 CM 130 gr. CX. I went thru the list of powders in the online data and compared them to my 10th edition Hornady book. The CX max load data was either ~0.8 gr. less than the book data or was the same. I'll continue on with...

You don't reload, it's already 6.5 CM, Easy Button. Last 5 elk I've shot are all with the CM & 143 gr. ELD-X factory round. One round each. At that rate, it'll be 15 years before I'll need to buy another box. Have you looked online, anywhere at all the offerings for 6.5CM?

Last season we lazed a bedded elk at 467 yards. I turned to my hunting partner and traded rifles - my 6.5 CM for his 6.5 PRC, both using factory 143 grain ELD-X. Waited the elk out and dropped it with no fuss, no drama.
