    When is enough, enough.....

Well, I guess I have to say I have the equipment bug as well. I started with a Hornady basic Lock&Load press kit, then it hit. There was a nice item I should get to help, oh, bought a new rifled, more dies, then more equipment to upgrade reloading gear, accessories of all sorts and as time...

    When is enough, enough.....

reaching for more .... If anyone has vaccine for this, it is a difficult thing to cope with. Everytime you turn around there is some new or more advanced piece of equipment with reloading items. You think you have all the dies you need, then out comes a new rifle caliber that you just HAVE to...

    New to reloading

When I started I bought a Hornady Classic press kit. I have used it for years and been happy with it, it came with powder dispenser, scale, handbook and sever other tools. One advantage - when you buy a major item like that from Hornady, you qualify for 500 free bullets, things like dies you...

My Ruger Hawkeye M77 in 6.5 PRC with a bolt seizing issues was easily resolved by the factory. It now works fine. I had also had that problem the same day as my .224 Valkyrie had its problems.

The Savage MSR-15 Long Range in .224 Valkyrie had serious keyholing issues regardless of what ammo I used. It has 1:7 twist rate. End result was it was given a new barrel. I believe sending along target photos helped greatly. I had labeled each target with the specific ammo used. I...

    KEY HOLE PROBLEM

I have a Savage MSR-15 Long Range in .224 Valkyrie. It is supposed to be shooting heavier for caliber .224 bullets of 90 grains or better. I had problems once with it with recycling and sent it back to the factory where they said it was a gas block adjustment issue. I took it to the range...

    Wet Tumbler

For years I used a dry tumbler but was never satisfied. Then I moved on to a wet tumbler and didn't really get satisfaction there either. Finally I bought into the Franklin tumbler system with stainless steel pins and have been way more satisfied with the results. It takes me on average about...

What rifles have fancy wood stocks?

I have a Sako, L61R, .270 Win Finnbear Deluxe with Monte Carlo stock I purchased in Germany in 1974. It has beautiful workmanship on the stock along with a couple other embellishments. I bought the rifle new in a Military gun club for $350. I went to a Cabelas Gun Library and was shocked to...

    Why the 17 HMR

I have the Savage B-Mag in 17WSM and have killed several groundhogs with it. The red tip ammo hits 3,000fps and it puts them down quickly. It is a bolt-action rifle. I also have the Savage A-17 model in 17HMR, semi-auto. It also is a good varmint gun. Both are very accurate and quite...

ordered my first wet tumbler, Couple questions

I really like the final results with the Franklin tumbler system. One thing I did find out with 6.5 Creedmoor brass was that occasionally one of the metal pins would get stuck crossways in the neck. It was not a very common thing, but you do need to double-check all your brass for that when...

    Another Hornady brass thread!

I have notice several comments about annealing brass. Is there some way to do this other than buying the one unit that costs about $2500? At that point I think it would be cheaper to just buy new brass. I have a lot and wondering what methods some of you guys use.

Having issues getting the bolt to eject

I purchased a Ruger M77 Hawkeye Long Range in 6.5PRC. I took it home, ran the bolt back and forth a few times. Fine. Few days later went to the range to zero it, same problem as some of you. Could lift the bolt handle up and down but forget drawing the bolt back no matter how hard I pulled...
