I use EGW Heavy Duty rails. Mounting a 20MOA right now on my Savage 110 FCP HS Precision .338 Lapua Magnum. Funny thing is it came with a 20MOA EGW rail, but the EGW Heavy Duty rails are waaaaay better than their standard ones. The EGW HD rails are one-piece scope mounts that are precision...
Thanks Sidecar...
I'll be honest, where I live I will not have many opportunities to hunt in similar terrain. I was hoping to do some practicing in different conditions, elevations, etc. If I calculated it right, just 5 .338 Lapua Mag rounds weighs a little over 1/2 pound, so 100 rounds...
he had a lot of other good things going to shoot like that, doubt the primers were the main reason for it ;-) The only place I use CCI is primers is making military spec .223 rounds; just my preference. I have had excellent consistency with Federal Gold Medal Match primers and see no reason to...
While I was at Adventure Outdoors over paying for the primers I needed, I checked and my Gun was in!!
I'm in love with that heavy fluted barrel and HS Precision stock
And it did have 3 sling swivel posts like the 111 LRH (even though the person at Savage said it didn't come with any like the...
Thanks Lefty.
I will definitely rethink the .5 intervals. I had just narrowed it down to the 2.5 grain range that I saw was most affective. I could just do 3 different loads with 2 different lands within each (5 rounds each):
- 88.0 grains 0.015" off lands
- 88.0 grains 0.025" off lands
-...
Congrats on that Bull and great story. OMG on the pants though, I'm not even going to ask, I figure they must just work for you or you would never dare wear them :D
I was just about to start on my load development for my new 110 FCP HSP .338 Lapua Magnum and I realized that I have the wrong primers! What I was going to load with was the Federal Gold Medal Match Large Magnum Rifle primers (GM215M). But I realized that my entire case of 1,000 is GM210M, the...
Their Matched pairs are made by Seekins Precision and are pretty decent (made to precise tolerances from 7075-T6 aluminum billet). Their regular ones, are well, regular ones (made from weaker 6061-T6 aluminum and not matched)...
I doubt Seekins makes the tactical ones and would recommend...
I haven't heard of gun juice, though I went on their site and it does sound similar (though SLIP2000 is JUST about Lubes for guns/shooting). I started using SLIP2000 lubes back when I first got heavy into AR's and other assault rifles.
In those guns I saw a great reduction in temperature...
My brother uses 165 grain Nosler AccuBond bullets with 47.0 grains of Hodgdon BenchMark powder, Federal Gold Medal Match GM210M primers, Winchester Nickel brass, about 0.02" off the lands with a very slight crimp. That load seems to work best in his 30-06. (I have tried to convince him to use...
Is anyone else using the SLIP2000 products to improve their velocity, accuracy and longevity?
I use SLIP2000 EWL (Extreme Weapons Lube) in my barrel and most friction surfaces:
Slip 2000™ - EWL
And I use SLIP2000 EWG (Extreme Weapons Grease) on my bolt and chamber:
Slip 2000™ - Extreme...
