Browning x bolt western hunter 26 nosler

Haven't seen it mentioned here but probably was. Make sure to use thread lock on all scope mounts. Had a freedom arms 454 casuul and let sportsmans warehouse put a new scope on it. Didn't lok tite it. Next thing I see is the scope flying thru the air on the 4th round.

1st elk hunt need rifle advice

Browning X bolt is all you need in 300 wm. Best all around cartridge and the x bolt is a very nice rifle. I own a 300 wm x bolt medallion. Have been hunting elk for 50+ years and the 300 wm is great for ballistics and knock down power. Also the 30-06 is a good choice but the x bolt 300 ,would be...

    Muck boots for snake bites

Leather spats or gaiters would be the cheaper way to go.

    "difficult" calibers

I own a Tikka 300wsm and am completely satisfied with it. A Tikka start is a good start.

    Atn

Just bought an ATN X-sight II HD 5-20x. Quite the amazing little scope. 1 shot zero is incredible, and the ballistics calculator is really spot on. My question is has anyone else used this scope and what do you think of it. It will even make a movie of your shot among many more things. What's...

    Ruger #1 in 223 rem

I would check out the new 224 valkyrie. Has some pretty impressive ballistics.

    Blacktail hunting

I would recommend the high cascades also. Used to hunt the Glacier Peak wilderness areas. Plenty of long shots. We were 5k-6k in elevation. I've gotten black bear, blacktail and mountain goat there. You can either hike in, about 15 miles, or horseback. Plenty of guides will take you in and come...

Are high powered scopes really necessary for hunting?

Not an answer to the question. I have had Leatherwood scopes from the arts to an 8-32 Leatherwood. I like them but rarely ever see them talked about. How do you like the arts and Leatherwood in general?

    Scopes

It was a cheap price. I'm going to put it on my x-bolt 300 wm. I'll let everyone know. Thank you

    Scopes

I came across a leatherwood 8-32x50 by a company called Hi-Lux. Looks like a decent scope. One thing I found on leatherwood is they made some of the first military sniper scopes. I am curious if anyone here has any experience with these scopes and are they good or bad?

Which rifle is worth spending on

The problem with those ideas is my wallet. It won't stretch that far. For what I use them for, hunting, I think the accuracy of both the x-bolt or the tikka will fil the bill very well. As for the I've been shooting the 300 wm caliber for 40 years and never had a problem until shoulder surgeries...
