Wenaha holds large bulls but hard to draw a tag.

Pack wasn't to bad we had six pack mules we used to pack in. Decent amount of elk. Saw people everyday one group would ride in there had to be 10 or 12 of them. Lower country had a crowd not even a spot to pull off the road.

How our hunt went. I shot my bull basically out of camp. 523 yard shot 230 grain berger hybrid target bullets out of my 300 ultra. My friend shot his buck at 75 yards right off the trail. I shot my bull an hour into the season my friend shot his buck the next morning.

I shoot the 230 hybrid target bullets out of my 300 ultra mag with 86 grains h1000 at 2950 fps. They hit like a freight train on elk and massive wound channel and penetration. All of the bulls were shot between 550 yards and 375 yards. Their insides were turned to jello with large entry hole but...

So was I we scouted from thursday to sunday. Spotted several in the shooter bulls. We are packing in on the 13th and be there until the 25th or everyone tags out. Saw the outfitter packing out archery hunters but no antlers.

You should have no problem finding bulls. It is going to be an awesome hunt.gun):D

indians are free for all, and not part of the tag allotment. You will see plenty of bulls should be a great hunt. Shouldn't have a problem with that gun. Black mountain road is a good place to start.

Bulls will be down in the holes, if you got a canyon shooting gun you will be better off than 95% of the hunters in there. Some good bulls to be had just not monsters. Biggest I have laid eyes on was 370 type bull but 320 to 340 more realistic and you will have indians hunting also so if you see...
