    Is the .17WSM dead?

I have one in a Ruger 77. Bought it 2020. Shim the bolt and a little trigger work and it’s a good shooter. I bought 2 cases of ammo when I got the rifle. Haven’t seen much ammo around the last couple of years though.

What’s the POWDER you love to hate?

That’s been my experience with H4831. It’s not going to win any races, but it’s hard to hate since it’s usually very accurate. Also stable and predictable.

Reviews of SilencerCentral.com -what say yea?

I purchased a banish can from them in 2018, and two in 2019 - black Friday deal where I got a free rimfire with purchase of a banish 30. Both times process was very hassle free, and they set up the trust. Second ones there was about a month between ordering and getting notice that paperwork...

    Quick Load advice

I have used it successfully for five different rifles. I shoot a ladder over the magnetospeed, 10-15 shots in increments of case capacity - 30 some grains powder is .3 grain increment, 40 some is .4. Then start tweaking the QL variables to get the QL velocities to match the magnetospeed across...

    Great falls gunsmith

I believe your talking about Mike Johnson in Chinook. Have and have shot rifles from him. Top notch, fast turn around, very reasonably priced. Have also used Randy Melvin, Bull Mountain Rifle in Billings. He also builds a fine shooting rifle.

    Bullet Seating Runout

I broke the rule of only changing one thing at a time, but in this case I think all three are part of the solution. I ordered and received a .2755 mandrel. I removed the decapping stem and expander button from my FL sizing die, and run the cases through the bare sizing die. Then used the...

I do wet tumble so necks are completely clean. I have tried putting some imperial on the drive bands of the bullet, with no improvement. I have resized some old brass I have that hadn’t been annealed with this new batch of Norma brass. It was wet tumbled. They resize smooth and a bullet is...

    What do you think?

I have one that I bought about a year-year and a half ago. There are a couple of good youtube videos on setting up/polishing/lubing. I did all of that before I run a round through it. It’s worked pretty flawless since. I can probably get 200-250 9mm an hour, with room to increase that if I...

    Bullet Seating Runout

It is plenty of neck tension, .004 right now. I didn’t even measure prior to annealing, since there were no issues and it was looking good and shooting good. I haven’t yet shot these few reloads since annealing and reloading, but I know I didn’t have this sticking issues prior to...

Both a Hornady Interlock and a Nosler Accubond have done the exact same thing with the bullet sticking in the stem. Ordering a .2755 mandrel and see if that helps.

    Bullet Seating Runout

Got some more testing done this morning. A .273 pin gauge slid completely through the neck of all prepped cases. The .272 fit easily, .273 snug, and .274 wouldn’t go. I could not find any sign of a donut. Also, could not find any irregularities in the case mouths, at least to .0005. I tried...

The seating die is backed off the shellholder 1/4 to 1/2 turn. There is no contact with an empty case and the seating die. I am using a Lee factory crimp die as a separate final step. Cases are all trimmed to 2.539” (Barnes Manual) Hopefully the case mouth just looks crooked from a bad...

    Bullet Seating Runout

It is a recent development. I did load development and settled on a good load at about 0.4 MOA. I fired and reloaded the same cases 3-4 times through this process with no issues. I annealed and then did the exact same case prep as before, except now I have this thing with the seating. I...
