I have a really nice load with 143 eldx and H 4350. Good velocity and nice accuracy... Have taken a large mule deer and a large whitetail with this combination.
I don't have any experience with RL26, but my experience with RL17 has been that the decrease in velocity with temp decrease has not followed a linear regression. For example, I did my load work at 65*, and when I check velocity at say 45*, I might experience a 0.3 fps/degree drop in velocity...
I'm in the market for a new spotting scope and just wanted some input on preferences for the straight or angled eyepiece. It will be used for western hunting, watching whitetails down south in ag fields, and spotting for long range target shooting. Thanks!
I have both, and I'm primarily a deer hunter shooting in low light, and I prefer the T. I have found that the low illumination setting works very well for me in very low light.
For my 6.5cm, pushing a 143eldx at 2785fps, the longest shot on deer that I'm comfortable with would be about 650-700 yards. I know it will go further, but that's what I'm comfortable with...I have other rifles if I need to go farther. Just keep in mind, the 6.5cm was never intended to be an...
This ^^^^....my 2 main hunting rifles both have Jewell triggers set at 1.5#, and almost everyone that tries them out says I'm crazy for hunting with those light triggers. I just shoot so much better with a lighter trigger and I'm accustomed to them. One thing I always do though is to give anyone...
I use the Primos trigger stick tripod. In fact, I just used it on a mule deer hunt in November and it worked great...made the shot standing no problem.
It's a Jon Beanland build in 6.5 creedmore. Manners EH1 stock, Bartlein barrel at 24", Bighorn action. Topped with a NF ATAC-R 5-25X56. Shooting the new hornady eldx bullets.
