    Lighter 300PRC Projectiles?

On the far end, I found RL16 with 168TTSX a touch too fast. It worked, but pressures and speed were not optimal, and seemed spikey. I would (personally) test with faster than H1000, maybe somethingin the RL23 / 4831sc range. Post what you find! Cheers, -mox

    SOLD/EXPIRED Browning M-71 348 Win

For anyone going to shoot this and needing ammunition: Starline makes .348 brass GSCustoms, Hammer Bullets, and Hornady all make .348 bullets (GSC and Hammer are non-lead, Hornady FTX are lead, but need special seating stem.) I really like GSCustoms 180HV if you can get them...

    348 win components or ammo

Finding loaded ammo is just about a no-go. One rifle using a unique caliber and cartridge, and which hasn't been produced in decades (except for a short run to support the Miroku/Browning stuff.) Might fine a few here and there but not reliably. Gscustoms has 348 bullets, as does Hammer...

Well, I found out why Barnes Bullets "like jump" ...

Micrometer or caliper? If micrometer, what technique did you use for mounting the ogive jig /Hornady comparator? My measurements were only with a Mitutoyo caliper + Hornady comparator, so not as accurate as a micrometer.

Well, I found out why Barnes Bullets "like jump" ...

Cool, you got a better lot that I did, apparently. I now have a lot of boxes I now do not trust for anything "as is," and I'm going to have to do extra work (on an expensive "premium" bullet) to hit consistency on jump. That's then going to muck with the internal case volume as they will be...

Well, I found out why Barnes Bullets "like jump" ...

It is because their tooling is not accurate. Same box, getting 4-5 thou variance on base-to-ogive numbers. When you jump them a lot, 4-5 thou variance is lost is in the statistical noise. (5 thou on 50 thou jump is a 10% deviation, which is hard to detect. 5 thou on a 10 jump is a 50%...

Action bedding - help with the hard part!

Help. Did my second one. Pre-waxed (Johnson's Paste Wax), clay'd up (polymer), re-waxed. Popped out good. Now the really hard part: what's the magic to get all the wax and residual off/out of the action? :D Denatured alcohol doesn't seem to work. Heat it up with a heat gun and wipe it...

    7 PRC Build...your thoughts

Even out west with long range opportunities, a 6.5 PRC vs .270 vs 7RM vs 7PRC vs 280AI vs 28 Nosler vs .308 vs 30-06 vs 300WM vs 300 PRC vs 30SM vs 30Nos vs 338.... Most of those have high-BC options. Some just need some throating work. And/or a different faster/lighter powder charge and...

    7 PRC Build...your thoughts

I was in the exact same boat until I heard the recent Gunwerks podcast on the 7PRC; they talk about the challenges around the 7LRM and how they like the 7PRC. Anymore, I feel like we're just in the world of "almost everything is 2800-3k fps, and between 140 and 212 gr, so ... meh. Go hunting...

    SOLD/EXPIRED N565 8 lb

Especially with all the N565 that's been showing up, regularly, for the last week or so. Maybe someone was really fixated on same-lot.

Put 3 lbs back if anyone wants it :P

    SOLD/EXPIRED Powder Valley H1000 #$%$#

I think people are putting it in the carts and hesitating, or trying to save for friends, etc and it filters back out. Their timer is a bit broken, too, which probably doesn't help.

    Sigh - off-book recipe ... now what?

I really had hopes for a load workup with couple off-book powder/bullet combinations. Found a couple nice nodes, stopped when I saw signs, was pretty happy with velocities ... until I measured case head expansion and primer pockets, most of which were showing expansion even before primers or...
