Oh trust me, I have had those thoughts.... The thing is, I have 6 kids, so getting this in 30-06 makes it super easy to reload for, which makes it nice to be able to make a bunch of lighter loads etc for the kids to shoot. Not quite a kid friendly gun, but its a good one for the teens to play...

For the camo paint I used Krylon or Rustoleum camo paint. I have had good luck with both, properly prepping the material is key. Wipe it all down with acetone or some other thing that will leave no residue and remove oils. For the pattern, well this is the right time of year! Find some place...

Haven't done a bolt action in a while, but I did this AR, probably 6 yars ago, and while it has some definite marks from use, it's holding up well. And the camo pattern sorta helps make any markings sorta blend in.
