    need to accesorize my elite

WildWillie, thanks for the tip. I put peep tubing on mine and it didn't last. I'll try it again and use the moleskin this time.

    need to accesorize my elite

Mortis, do a search for Timney trigger install, and look for a post by Jon Henry 755 call installing a Timney trigger system. It gives you step by step instructions on how to install a new trigger. Step 6B describes how to remove the steel pin.

    need to accesorize my elite

Mortis, if you look under the scope rail you will see a small silver bar running horizontally across the opening with the hammer resting on it. You should pad the bar where the hammer strikes it. I just checked mine and the peep sight tubing that I put on is gone. So I have to redo mine and...

    Draw Cable type and size

Parashooter, I read on another site that the D loop and draw cord are the same material. It's called Amsfield 1600. I'm not sure about the diameter, but you can get it from BCY Fibers. It's not listed on their site, so you have to contact them and ask for it.

    Portable bow press

WildWillie, Your right, it is a shame. Being able to replace your string in the field is a major advantage that I wish they carried over to the new Elite. With the recent quality of their strings, it would make life a whole lot easier.

    need to accesorize my elite

Mortis, you don't pad the trigger. You pad the hammer block pin. You have to remove the pin to install a new trigger assembly. During reassembly just slide a piece of peep sight tubing ( or something similar ) over the pin. I did this on mine and it made a noticeable difference. The tubing...

    Portable bow press

WildWillie, The new Elites are not field serviceable like the Tac 15 was. You need a bow press to change the string and cables. It's in the manual.

Tac 10i draw gear shaft broke

Rustyfritz, Things like this never happen at a good time. I feel your pain, I had issues with my Tac last year right at the beginning of deer season and didn't get things right until after the season was over. Being that the Tac 10i has been discontinued for awhile, your best bet would...

    Noisy Tac Ordnance

Mine's the same, I noticed it when I changed the trigger and didn't think anything about it at the time.

    Noisy Tac Ordnance

Broken bow, I'm not sure if there is a total cure other than redesigning the spool. You should slightly pull the cocking rope to the left, close to the scope rail, EVERY time you load your Tac. Mine did the same thing until I started doing this.

    Noisy Tac Ordnance

Broken bow, it sounds like your cocking rope is winding upon itself. Try pulling the rope a little to the left during the first couple of cranks.

Drop away rest vs Firenock rest

Broken Bow, I put the drop away on my Elite and it was the second best upgrade I did to it. The first being the trigger. I would highly recommend the drop away. Do a search and look for an article called lose the buscuit and improve your tac by Russell Beach. It's a great write up about the...

    Portable bow press

Can anyone recommend a portable bow press that will work with the Tac Elite?

    Quiver/Mountains

Longtines, I use a hip quiver with my Elite. I don't know if it's the best way, but it is convenient. The Tac is heavy enough by itself, I wouldn't want to add to it. The one I use was made by Trautmans outdoor creations, and holds 8 arrows. I don't think they're in business any longer...

    QAD rest

Andy, thanks. I cheated on this one and used a shotgun. Two gobblers came in silent and tried to circle behind me, so I took the lead bird at about 18 yards.
