A straight 260 with 140 berger VLD's will do everything you are wanting, or go with a 300 WSM in a long action so you can seat bullets out long in the cases.

my 6.5x284 like 55.3 grains of H-1000 , .062 for 5 shots at 100yds center to center, getting 3140ft/sec. with 28" CBI barrel.

I am shooting Berger 105 VLDs and Hybrids in my Savage model 11 .243 with A.I.C. mags. with O.A.L. at 2.801" at 3160 ft/sec. and they feed smooth. It has a 28" C.B.I. barrel and will shoot through 30 caliber holes at 100 yards. This is about the longest OAL you can shoot in factory box mags.
