If you could only have 3 long guns, which would you choose?

    22LR Takedown 12ga Pump 308 Win... but a Switchbarrel with 3 different bolts, and a half dozen barrels in 6mm, 6.5mm, 5.56mm, .338 and 375. 😁

    Cougar Hunting

Well I have heard that, but never had proved to me. They say black is a recessive color in Leopards, maybe thats where the Jaguars came from and maybe Panthers from Lions.

    Cougar Hunting

I've seen a bunch of stuff in the last 8 years it seems most folks still don't believe happened, and a bunch more stuff that was proven wrong that is still believed to be true. So there's that... Southern Jaguars? Sure way more believable than most of what they're telling you to believe is...

    Trigger for BLR

The Winchester M88, like the BLR has a 'Traveling Trigger' generally thought to be 'horrible' and also is a PIA to work on. Our family's M88 in 308's trigger has been reworked decades ago, and is so light that it's nickname is 'Killer'. It is my favorite hunting rifle. Its light, fast and...

    Which annealer?

Actually not very, but then I am using the infrared about 3/8 of an inch below the shoulder. Trying to get a good reading on the neck in the flame doesn't work to well.

    7prc or 6.8 west?

My choice would be 6.8 Western, but it is a tough call. Not sure about the Seekins vs the Xbolt. If was gonna pony up I think I might go a different way altogether. Maybe a Guntersville, maybe do a semi custom.

    Low recoil deer caliber

Given the OP is in Canada I would think ARs are out like suppressors. As well as the AR associated cartridges. If not a reloader then likely the best choice is one of the ones always found on the LGS's shelves. Of what is my guess that is likely to be found, imo the best would be a 243.

    Have You Ever Wondered

You were doing good right up to number three 🤣 Winchester M88 was a lever operated bolt action. It was able to safely shoot 243, 284, 308, and 358. The idea of a lever that could shoot higher pressure spire points struck a cord with the Savage 99, as Sako, and Browning also followed suit. Which...

Issues I have with E bike deer hunting want your thoughts

Not saying the same thing can't happen here in the USA, but currently the State of Wyoming is pushing back on Public Lands Government Over-each. https://cowboystatedaily.com/2023/10/04/wyoming-considers-suing-blm-over-controversial-rock-springs-management-plan/ ETA...

    Improving the 308 Win performance

Yes that is what they said. Palma production is suspended until further notice due to military commitments. I bought some Lapua LRP for GP hunting, and Peterson SRP for LR hunting. Both using Monos, I use them in different rifles. Semiautomatic stuff I use LC brass.

    Which annealer?

Yeah they're nice. Let's me keep my attention on things better.

    Which annealer?

Agreed. I use a a regulator too. I hardly ever have to adjust the flame. On the Burstfire it's speed thing. Just adjust the speed setting to the case your going to anneal. I temp paint (750F) a couple of trash cases and always get a reference temp with my infrared just to make sure it's set right.

    Which annealer?

For about 50 bucks more the Burstfire is more refined comes with a torch head and hose. Its hands free plus it comes with the prepcenter. Been very happy with it.

Reloading for the new .277 Fury from Sig

Nope. Curious though. Been wondering how it would shake out vs the 6.8 Western. 277 fury 140 gr at 3000fps out of a 16" barrel, while not sure a 170 gr will fit in a AICS mag correctly. IMO the Western is the better long range cartridge, and the Fury maybe better if a AICS mag is more important...

    Which annealer?

The Burstfire is hands free and what I use, it works for me. Under $300 and it has a 4 station prep center. I use a 5 gallon tank and regulator. Templeq to start til I get my reference temp with a welding heat gun to spot check if need to. I am absolutely sure the $2000 + for the hands free...
