Vapor trails in my experience are slightly easier to see with very slightly out of focus optics set on a lower power. Seeing them this way is not bullet specific for me. However I could believe these Hammer bullets and the oil may make it easier sometimes. As stated previously I can also see...
See you are going to mandrel size. Did you measure how much neck tension you have ? I have ran those same bullets with .004 and didn't see what you have.

Couple more details. This animal was the same color as an orangutan. Would describe it more towards lean than heavily muscled. Height had to be over 9 feet. I figure a average doe in Pa hanging from back legs is 6 feet high. This thing picked it up by the hind legs and looked it right in the eye...
Havent talked about this encounter in years. Grew up on the remote family farm in western pa. Will leave at that. Here we go. Was traveling home from work one Friday evening on my motorcycle. Not a well used road that is cut into the side of a mountain so steep you have to go from tree to tree...
May also take a look at some of the Mauser forums for a somebody familiar and willing to do your work if possible ? If I am not mistaken I believe member 25WSM may have some help for you on here.
