No. I still have 2 inches of metal on the breach end. If it's doesn't have enough metal around the chamber to support the pressures of a 280 AI then I'll just cut it down the middle and see what the cross section looks like.

It's a Christensen barrel. I can't find anywhere on Christensen's, Proof or Carbon 6 websites that show the dimensions of the underlying metal barrel.

According to to Hodgdon's site they are interchangeable. I have used both and have found no difference other than maybe lot differences. The same lot differences as when I change lots of H1000. The H4831ssc does meter better though.

Nice bucks! Good work. I just chambered a 280 AI last week. It's still sitting in the shop while I wait for 7mm bullets to get here. Hopefully I'll get it out and get a Sitka with it before the season ends.
