I think it will likely be around the 7-8 pound range. I just contoured a .30 cal barrel, 4 inches 1.20 dia. streight taper to .875 and it weighs about 5# 12oz. its only 27"long

I think the idea is that the 175, will stay together and act like a FMJ, or expand very little. I have shot yotes out to 400 meters with the 125gr speer. THEY ARE NASTY! If you want the dogs to die a rather messy death with large exit wounds, use tnt's.
