With my 8" twist/26" #4 lilja I have tried 130 Accubonds, 140 A-max, and 140 Bergers. The Bergers shot the best. All bullets were loaded just off the lands.

With mine I had a problem with the eyepiece lockring coming loose. When that happens the eyepiece can move around, and so does the crosshairs. After it was loc-tited down, I haven't had any more problems. Great scope. Wish I had more.

Thanks for the info. It doesn't look like I have to much room to shorten the bolt stop. The last thing I want is for the bolt to come completely out when I'm all wound up over the antlers in front of me. I'll see if I can find an extra, before I start filling.

The gun is a factory T3. I'd like to load out to the lands, but then ofcourse the rounds won't fit into the clip. Can the filler block in the back of the 308 clip be removed, and/or would a clip from a T3 long action caliber work?

This was 2010 bull at 690 yards, with a 168vld out of a 7mm. Chrono's about 2750fps. It broke the first shoulder, and then I found a 61 grain chunk of bullet against the opposite shoulder.

The elk I killed in 2010 was with the same speed with the same bullet. At 690yds he jumped up the hill twice and then rolled over backwards. The bullet broke the onside shoulder and stopped against the other, and weighed 62gr.

The one I bought from the tactical shop in Albany, OR. did something that might be happening to yours. The orange line would stick and then spin freely, and give all kinds of crazy readings. I took it back to them an they swapped it out for a new one without the box or receipts. I don't even use...

I had the 15-45x65 Viper HD for 2-3 weeks. Prior to owning this scope, all I had was an $80 Winchester that I've had since 2005. While doing ladder tests at 300yards I would compare the 2 pretty close at seeing bullet holes. After swaping the scope and some money for a swarofski, I can now see...

I bought a viper HD and sent it back because I could see bullet holes at 300yrds alittle bit better than my $80 dollar winchester spotter. I felt it was way more money than it was worth.

Just for comparison...I have a .260 w/26" #5 Lilja and I'm getting Under .5moa 5 shot groups at 2750fps shooting the 140 berger.

mtn 300, Will you be able to seat to the lands with that combo? From my own experience 1250ft lbs of energy is plenty on a mature elk with a 168 .284 vld.

A shunshade is a big help to keep the lens dry when hunting in the rain. Here in Oregon that seems happen quite a bit.
